What a breath of fresh air in regard to a fashion show. All women need to see this. All women should feel appreciated as they are. It's hard enough living up to the beauty standards shoved down our throats on a daily basis but what about the women who suffer a disease, lose their hair,a limb or a plethora of other things that can befall us? Are we then no longer beautiful in society's eyes? Sadly in a lot of cases, people would say no. The reality is that we are! Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder and a lot of men and women know better than to dismiss a person due to differences. Celebrate YOU!

Did We Need This Remake?
Boys Over Flowers

Over a year ago or so I watched this show with my teenage daughter and actually found myself really enjoying it. There were a ton of episodes( Subtitles) but I braved through them with my daughter and it was my first taste of a K-Drama. It was good, a little over the top with the acting but I took it for what it was. Then last night as I was browsing Netflix, I saw a new show and decided to check it out because I'm always looking for shows my daughter and I can watch together. I found this show and began to watch.

Which is an almost exact replica of the original show with a new cast. I'm a bit lost as to why they even made a 2018 version of the show. It's basically the same scene for scene. There are a few slight and I do mean slight changes but that's about it. So if you've watched this before it may be a complete time waste to even check out the 2018 version of the show. As of today's day, there are 16 episodes listed with new episodes added weekly. The original show had 25 episodes so we'll see if Meteor Garden will have more.

Throwback Thursday!
Today's Throwback Thursday post will be my book "The Conversation"
Yeah, I wrote it but I thought it was a really good book. It explored starting over in relationships and it never being too late to take your relationship in a different direction if things are not working and your partner isn't seeing your value. If you haven't read it yet, check it out.
Does It Ever Stop?

It looks like Author Tomi Adeyemi had some drama brought directly to her doorstep recently. These days this isn't something you can just brush off as no big deal. To be honest, for Black people it has never been that. We've always known simply opening your door to a police officer could mean unwarranted trouble. The last few years it's been solidified that even complying with police can lead to you losing your life for no reason at all. Read about Tomi's recent interaction with police on July 12.2018 via a series of Tweets she shared with the public.
How It Ends-Netflix Review

Well, this was a highly anticipated Netflix Orginal movie I was looking forward to and let's just say this. It didn't end fast enough for me. I like my movies like I like my books. I don't mind a slow build up as long as it doesn't leave me dazed and confused wondering what the hell happened...and not in a good way either. The trailer was really misleading to me as well. I don't want to reveal too much about the movie because just like books, we all like different things, this just didn't do it for me on any level.
Check it out and leave your thoughts in the comments.
I love Issa Rae...

Not only do I love all the opportunities she's brought to Black Creatives in the film industry, I love how Issa Rae is just unapologetically bliggity-BLACK. I've enjoyed watching her grow since her series on Youtube. Persistence and dedication pays off. Congratulations Queen.

In the Pipeline....
Hey Supporters, I just wanted to give an update on what's in the pipeline for Candace Mumford aka Ms.Bam!
Up next will be my reentry into Kindle Unlimited. Readers may be aware that you don't see my books in KU but I've been in there previously though my preference is to make my books available to Readers on all platforms. I will be doing some books that are specifically for KU. They will be Novellas just so I'm clear on that aspect . KU requires that books remain in KU for 90 days. I haven't fully decided if after 90 days I'll make those books available on other platforms. I'll definitley keep everyone updated.
First Up....
Then late August, the trilogy
Anatomy Of A Break-Up
( All three parts will be released the same day )
The Long...and sometimes short of it...
Hello Dear Readers, just a quick post in regard to word counts. In writing, word count dicates what your story is classified as. Be it a Short Story,Novellete,Novella or Novel. The page count is irrelevant. Especially when it comes to Ebooks. An Author can have their work formattaed and know exactly how many pages the work should be. Load it on Amazon ( who always shorts page counts BTW) and all the other online vendors and each place will show a different page count according to their system. Your favorite Authors are NOT trying to mis-lead you in the event you see different page counts at various ebook vendors. So with this post, I just wanted to let my readers know what I personally go by when classifying my books. This is the only chart I utilize. Also just a reminder that I write all forms depending on the story I'm telling, but I will always price accordingly. You'll never see me publish a Short-Story and charge the same price as I would a Novella or Novel.
You can also read more about word count classifications here.
Happy Memorial Day...
Wishing everyone a safe and Happy Memorial Day!I'm having a relaxing day with my family and the BBQ is going. Have a blessed day everyone ~ Candace aka Ms.Bam
New Release 5/22/18 - Danielle
It's been four long years since plus-sized beauty Danielle Dotson has let real love into her life. Since the un-timely death of her high school sweetheart, Danielle has concentrated on nothing but fulfilling her dreams of becoming a successful business owner. Too disillusioned with men more concerned about the size of her jeans instead of the size of her heart. Love could come later. If it came at all.Danielle would never have thought being pressured into a last minute blind-date by her favorite cousin aka best-friend would drop the perfect man in her lap. Perhaps a little too perfect for her.
Christian Lawrence is far from perfect. At least that's what his Ex said. Christian finds himself in a new city trying to piece his life back together after a break-up he should have seen coming a mile away. The only thing he walked away from after a four year relationship was a beautiful daughter and a scorned heart. That is until he's introduced to Danielle a woman unlike every woman he's ever found himself attracted to before. The really issue is are those differences just enough to bring them together, or pull them apart?
Danielle is Volume 1 of an on-going standalone series dedicated to plus-size women(or men ?) called Heavy On My Mind
NOW!
